The following is the best:
Forget each kindness that you do
As soon as you have done it;
Forget the praise that falls to you
As soon as you have won it;
Forget the slander that you hear
Before you can repeat it;
Forget each slight, each spite, each sneer,
Wherever you may meet it.
Remember every kindness done
To you, whate'er its measure;
Remember praise by others won
And pass it on with pleasure;
Remember every promise made
And keep it to the letter;
Remember those who lend you aid
And be a grateful debtor.
Remember good, remember truth,
Remember Heaven's above you,
And you will find, through age and youth,
That many hearts will love you.
(Heb. 13. 2, 3, 7, 16)
CHOICE GLEANINGS: GOOD NEWS EDITION JUNE 16
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory. 1 Peter 1:8
It seems an incredible mystery that we love a person whom we have never seen. John gives insight into that kind of love by expressing that we love Him because He first loved us. He tells us also, “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins,” (1 John 4:10Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). The greatest exhibition of love was fully expressed on the cross at Calvary. Christ died for us. It is by believing this we can rejoice with incredible joy! Are you a believer today? —Jim Paul
Teach me thus Thy steps to trace, strong to follow in Thy grace,
Learning how to love from Thee, loving Him Who first loved me.
